14. REMEMBER THAT I SANG FOR YOU  TILL MY END DAYS
           [এই কথাটি মনে রেখো, আমি যে গান গেয়েছিলেম ]
                [Ei kathati mone rekho, Ami je gan geyachhilem]


এই কথাটি মনে রেখো,
This much you must keep in mind,
  তোমাদের এই হাসিখেলায়
That I joined in your plays and laughter
আমি যে গান গেয়েছিলেম 
And that  I sung some songs,
জীর্ণ পাতা ঝরার বেলায়। ১
In those end-days [of my life]
 while old leaves do shed down.



শুকনো ঘাসে শূন্য বনে   আপন-মনে 
Over the dry leaves in the empty forest, in my own mind, 
অনাদরে অবহেলায়
Disregarded and neglected
আমি যে গান গেয়েছিলেম 
I went on singing my songs,
জীর্ণ পাতা ঝরার বেলায়॥ ২
 In those days when old leaves shed .


দিনের পথিক মনে রেখো,
The day-travelers  must remember,
 আমি চলেছিলেম রাতে 
I had been passing through my nights
 সন্ধ্যাপ্রদীপ নিয়ে হাতে। 
Taking a night-lamp in my hand.


যখন আমায়  ও-পার থেকে গেল ডেকে 
When I got my call from the other side [of this world]
ভেসেছিলেম ভাঙা ভেলায়। 
I departed rowing. on my broken boat.
আমি যে গান গেয়েছিলেম     
Till  then I sung some songs,

জীর্ণ পাতা ঝরার বেলায়॥৩
In those days when old leaves shed.
